The Count Me In puppet prgramme was designed to enable children and adults to
develop a greater understanding with regards to disability, diversity, difference and impairment.

A major focus of the programme is centred on addressing the key issues that can initiate prejudice and discrimination, including stigma, fear of difference,
pro-conceptions, ignorance, stereotypes and peer group pressure

It also achieved this by providing a platform for both disabled and non-disabled children and adults to learn to respond to disability or "Difference" in an inclusive and appropriate way, that teaches respect for everyone's individuality and "uniqueness" within family, school, peer and wider social environments.

Count Me In features six life size, pan-disability, multi-racial and culturally diverse puppets. These puppets have proven to be an effective communicator of the message of understanding and acceptance, helping to dispel fears, myths and
pre-conceptions around disability.

There are several different performances and scenarios for children and students in pre-school and educational settings that addess pan-disability issues including sensory impairment, physical and mobility impairments, learning, communication, cognitive, preception and behavioural disabilities.

A key objective for the programme is to facilitate the delivery of educational programmes that promote disability and diversity equality, inclusion and integration, though individual and organisational adjustments, within all nurseries and educational settings for children between the ages of 2 to 18 on a local and national basis.

Also to provide a peer supported framework for children, students, teachers parents and carers that will enable on going self development, individual attainment and conidence building across all related areas. This will be complented through the provision of educational resources for teachers to enable classroom particiption in activities that will encourage children to develop their learning through play and group activities.
